The Chris Barber's Jazz Band/ The Chris Barber Jazz & Blues Band section of the website covers many aspects of the band between the split with Ken Colyer in 1954 and the expansion of the band to the Big Chris Barber Band in 2001 -- plus a few recent personnel changes. To begin with, and to put things in perspective, here are some "overview" pages about how the band's personnel changed over a period of fifty years.

  • From 1953 to Today ... Each photograph is accompanied by the dates that each was a member of the band, plus one or more musical excerpts that best illustrate his approach to the instrument.
